Cactus depressus

Cactus depressus, also known as the Mexican prickly poppy, is a species of flowering plant in the cactus family.

It has been traditionally used in medicine for its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, which can be attributed to its alkaloid content, particularly anhydrohistamine and anhydrohistamine N-oxide.

The plant's medicinal properties are said to have various health benefits, including reducing fever, alleviating pain, and treating wounds.

In herbal preparations, the plant is often used to make teas, infusions, and topical creams, although its usage is largely limited to traditional medicine in some parts of Mexico.
